This policy explains what personal information Abroad Pilot collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have over it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
Who we are
Abroad Pilot is an international education consultancy. For the purposes of data protection law we are the controller of the personal information you provide through this website.

What we collect
When you complete an enquiry, counselling or contact form we collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number, and your WhatsApp number if you give one
- Your current city, preferred destination, intended study level, intake and current qualification
- The message you write to us
- Technical information: your IP address, browser user agent, the page you submitted from and, where applicable, the campaign parameters in the link you arrived through
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal data such as health information, religious beliefs or financial account details through these forms.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry. This is the primary purpose and the reason the forms exist.
- To provide counselling services. Your academic profile and budget are what allow us to give you a realistic shortlist.
- To submit applications on your behalf, where you have asked us to and agreed to it separately.
- To understand which pages and campaigns generate enquiries, so we can improve the site.
Our lawful basis
We process your information on the basis of your consent, given when you tick the consent box on a form, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. Where we process information to submit a university application for you, we do so to perform our agreement with you.
Who we share it with
We share your information with universities and institutions only where you have asked us to apply on your behalf, and only what that application requires. Where a visa route requires it, information may be shared with the relevant immigration authority as part of an application you have authorised.
We use service providers for website hosting and email delivery, who process information on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are retained for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, so that we can pick up a conversation if you return in a later intake cycle. Where we have submitted an application for you, records are kept for up to seven years to meet our record-keeping obligations. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information, where we have no overriding obligation to keep it
- Withdraw your consent to being contacted, at any time
- Object to processing, or ask us to restrict it
- Complain to your local data protection authority

Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled systems. Access to enquiry records is limited to staff who need it to do their work. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.

Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to anyone with an active enquiry.
